This group class is designed for absolute beginners aged 8 years and up and will teach students basic techniques such as –

 

• Holding the Bodhran.

• Holding the beater.

• Basic strokes.

• Rhythmic patterns suitable for playing with Irish Dance tunes such as reels and jigs.

• How to take care of your Bodhran.

 

While the Bodhran is known as The Heartbeat of Traditional Irish Music, it can also be combined with other more contemporary musical styles.

(Times will be confirmed at our Open Day in each venue.  Date in September '23 TBC)

Use of a Bodhran is included, with the option to purchase one at the end of the course.
