Recruitment is now underway for singers aged between 9 and 13 years to join Music Generation Leitrim's "Shannon Voices Vocal Ensemble" in association with Sing Ireland.

Children and young people who love to sing are encouraged to click HERE and fill out the application form. On receipt of this, we will request a short recording of the applicant singing a song of their choice. This can either be in the format of a voice or video recording.

The cost is €70 for 12 weeks, with rehearsals taking place in:.

Carrick-On-Shannon - Mondays @ 4.30pm (Venue TBC)

Due to commence 2nd October, 2023

The aim of Shannon Voices is to offer all children and young people in the region a chance to learn from and sing alongside leading professionals in the area of vocal exploration.

Alan Leech, one of Ireland’s leading tenors and former conductor with the RTE Philharmonic Choir, will work with the young singers as they develop their own unique style. The vocal ensemble will explore a number of genres including Folk, Pop, Classical and Rap. Alan will be joined by members of the Musician Educator team of Music Generation Leitrim.

Music Generation Leitrim Development Officer, Therese McCartin, is very excited about this project. She truly believes this is a fantastic and unique opportunity for the children and young people in Leitrim and the surrounding area.
